It was Boxing Day 2015 when we received the call from David saying that there was "a bit of water in the street! Could we pop round and help?"
We drove round to find a torrent flowing down his street and rising rapidly. We moved what we could and then proceeded to help the neighbours. It always struck me that even in a time of apparent catastrophe David always managed to see the funny side and keep laughing even managing to pose for a picture in the water. The water receded after a day and the big clean up started and was back in his home within a couple of months
