David spent most of his life around cars and bikes - with a particular love for Triumph and MG's. He constantly seemed to have sold one, bought another or just ordered a part on eBay. He was given an old Jawa bike, which he faithfully restored ordering parts from eastern Europe.

During his younger days, David and his mates would build and modify cars to go drag racing at places such as Santa Pod, even collecting a few trophies along the way
